Josh Strickland's Hunt in Canada

Here is a picture of Josh Strickland with this huge honker he shot in Sask, Canada. This was his first trip up to our house up there we have with some guy's I have hunted with for several years. We had some great shoots while we were up there. Also had some snow that week. I love the sunrises and sunsets up there with those big wide skies.

God provided well for this hunter

Fishing in San Diego

This is Ed Strickland and it was his first bass caught sight fishing in San Diego last Feb. It ws awesome, clearest water I have ever seen. They caught about five with the largest about four lbs.

The other is his son Dale caught at Harris last year in the Triangle Bass Anglers Classic tournament. This fish got him big fish money for the day and put him in third going into the last day. He would end up fourth. TBA fishes three lakes in two days between Harris, Jordan and Falls. This Fish was 6lb 6oz.

Both great fish and I'm sure they gave thanks to God for providing good times and a good catch.

The Verse Our Pastor Gave Us for Colonial Outdoors

Today at Colonial, Pastor Davey gave the state of the Church sermon. He spoke of all the ministries. He mentioned Colonial Outdoors and said he wanted to be on the side of guys who go to Walmart in camo. I clapped at that.

Pastor Davey told us our theme verse should be Acts 10:13 where the Lord told Peter in a vision, "And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat".

After all, as Jeremy told us at our kickoff meeting, we are guys that like to kill things and eat them, how prophetic.

Colonial Outdoors at the Dixie Deer Classic

This weekend was the Dixie Deer Classic. Some of our brothers including Ed Strickland and Todd Oleson helped out at the S.O.M.E. ministry Booth hosted by Mike Hayes. They got to see some awesome deer and speak to others on behalf of Mike's Ministry.

Pray For One of Our Own

We received a letter from one of our brothers, Matthew Lesher who is headed back oversea's. Please pray for his safe return to his family and to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

His letter to us:

Just wanted to let you guys know that I am doing well and hanging in there. We
are nearing the end of our training in Camp Shelby, Miss. and about to move onto
to Fort Irwin, California in about a week. I should be home for a brief visit
during the beginning of April before heading over seas. I hope all is well with
you guys. I sure do miss ya and can't wait to get back to the grind of serving
the Lord with you guys. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Take care.

In Him,

Matthew Lesher

Kick Off Meeting Information!

The first meeting of Colonial Outdoors will be held on March 4th at 7 PM in room FC217 at Colonial Baptist Church.

I know that Ed and Chris have put a lot of blood, sweat, tears and praying to make this happen, so let's get out there and support it.

Think of it as putting new lines on your rods or cutting lanes for your tree stand. Preparation is a big part of success.
