Hunter Safety course at Colonial NOW!!

Part of our outreach has been hosting the hunter safety courses at Colonial. The classes have been full and it has has been a highly successful outreach program.

We've had guest teachers from the game commission and they've commented that we've had a great facility and have been appropriate hosts.

Now the tough part, teaching the classes yourself. Last week, Ed Strickland, Chris Crum, Steve Wade and Tom Barritt took the class to be certified as instructors. One of the men felt a particular calling in his heart to get involved and participate and he obeyed what God was telling him. We should all do that instead of following our own sinful desires. Jump in and help spread God's word to the corners of the earth, starting in Cary, NC.

This is a multi hour course with a certification test afterwords to make sure that they understand the rules and regulations.

So much for the Hunter part. As I stated above, we are reaching out not to gain new members or take from other churches, rather provide a home for those who don't have a place they call their home church and be able to learn not only about hunting safety, but also to hear the Word of God as spoken through our Pastorial staff.

The first class is March 22, 23 and 25, but sign up is open this week.

Also, they could join our Outdoors Ministry (see the calendar on the right at the top of the page and click on Tuesday nights) as we have an exciting schedule this year from learning the word, teaching archery, building knives, building fish structure and much, much more.

GOD has blessed our group which started almost a year ago and we can already see the results of our the efforts he has worked through us as vessels of clay (stayed away from the song title there for you Christian music lovers).

We are a group of guys who love the outdoors be it hunting, fishing, camping or some combination of these and sharing it with others......especially the next generation.

So hats off to the guys who got certified and please pray that their teaching is successful and that God's work gets spread through our ministry.
